Microsoft Launches Windows Phone In India
The OS offers 25 GB cloud storage space and comes with the mobile version of Microsoft's latest Web browser Internet Explorer 9.
Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango update) was launched at an event in new Delhi today. The company has partnered with HTC, Samsung, Acer and Nokia to launch the operating system on the handsets of the respective companies. HTC Radar, launched today, Samsung Omnia W, Acer Allegro are the handsets that will have the Windows Mango OS. HTC Radar is available immediately in the market. Samsung Omnia W and Acer Allegro will be available in the Indian market by November. The Windows phone from Nokia will be launched in March 2012. |

Microsoft has partnered with Qualcomm for the phones which will have Snapdragon S2 processors and Adreno 205 GPU. The CPU offers a speed up to 1.4 GHz.
The phones come with Internet Explorer 9 for hardware acceleration that enables faster, smoother web browsing. The OS offers 25 GB cloud storage on Windows Live SkyDrive where users can store pictures from the phone as well as the social networking sites.
The Microsoft app marketplace has over 30,000 apps and 50,000 developers are already working on building apps for the same. The Metro user interface on the phone also makes local apps available for the users.
